Wondering is shop.app legit? The Shop app is a legitimate platform built by Shopify and earns a Trusted score of 80/100 on HasTrust. It's reliable for tracking packages and checking out with merchants you already know, but use caution with unfamiliar third-party sellers in the app's marketplace, where dispute support can be limited.
The Shop app itself is a legitimate platform created by Shopify; however, its integrated marketplace is frequently abused by fraudulent third-party sellers. While the app is useful for tracking packages from known, reputable merchants, you should be very cautious about buying from unknown vendors within the app, as support for dispute resolution is often lacking. It is recommended to use the platform strictly for tracking or checkout with trusted businesses and avoid browsing for new products within the app.

Why this score?
✓ Pros

- Useful for tracking packages from known, trusted merchants
- Convenient one-tap checkout using Shop Pay
⚠ Cons
- High risk of encountering fraudulent third-party sellers within the marketplace
- Poor customer support when disputes arise with merchants
- Reports of invasive data collection and difficult account deletion processes
- Unreliable package tracking information in some cases
- Numerous user reports of never receiving products from third-party sellers
- Difficulty contacting support or getting help with order disputes

- Concerns regarding data privacy and account deletion difficulties
Why switch: The Shop app is best used as a tool for tracking packages from trusted stores or using Shop Pay, rather than as a marketplace for discovering new, unvetted merchants.
To avoid issues with fraudulent third-party sellers on the platform, it is safer to purchase products directly from a merchant's own official website.
