Who we are

HasTrust (hastrust.com and the HasTrust browser extension) is run by Brian Wijnandts in the Netherlands. You can reach us at [email protected]. By using HasTrust you agree to these terms.

The service

HasTrust is free to use and needs no account. You may use it for your own purchases and research. Automated or bulk access, such as scraping pages or running checks from a script, is only allowed through our API, which has its own keys and limits.

No advice, no guarantee

A trust score is an opinion based on the signals we measured and the public sources we found at the time of the check. It can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It is not financial or legal advice, and it is not a statement that any business is fraudulent. Always make your own decision before paying.

What you submit

When you check a shop, product or link, the result may be saved as a public page so other shoppers can find it. Do not submit personal data: no email addresses, phone numbers, order or tracking links that identify you, or links containing login or payment details. Reports and comments must be honest and your own; we may edit or remove them.

Fair use

Do not try to manipulate scores, flood the service with requests, probe it for weaknesses, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access that harms the service or other users.

Links to other sites

HasTrust links to shops and sources we do not control. Some links are affiliate links that may earn us a commission; this never changes a score. Any purchase you make is between you and the seller.

Content and open data

The site’s text, design and software belong to HasTrust. The datasets on our open data page are published under the CC BY 4.0 licence, which lets you reuse them with attribution.

Liability

HasTrust is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss resulting from a decision you made using the service, or from a transaction with a third party. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Corrections and removal

If you believe a page about your business is inaccurate, or a page contains your personal data, contact us. We re-run our own checks and correct or remove what is wrong.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
