Frequently asked questions
Is HasTrust free?
Yes — free on the website and in the browser extension. Some outbound links may earn us a small affiliate commission at no cost to you; that never changes an assessment.
How does HasTrust decide if a site is a scam?
It gathers public signals — customer reviews, scam and complaint reports, domain age, the HTTPS certificate and third-party ratings — and weighs them into a trust score and a plain-language assessment. Every assessment links the sources it drew from.
What data does the extension collect?
By default only the page's domain, to look up an assessment — never the full URL, page contents, your cart or any personal data. The product URL is sent only when you click “Check this product” yourself.
Does HasTrust work on any website?
Yes. It works on any store or product page you choose to shop on, in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox.
Can I get a wrong assessment corrected?
Yes. Business owners can request a correction or removal from the contact page. We review correction and removal requests and update or remove assessments accordingly.
How accurate is HasTrust?
HasTrust uses automated, AI-assisted analysis of public information, which can be incomplete or out of date. Treat it as a second opinion — always review the sources and the seller before you pay.
