Bond instead 'borrowed' the vehicle from Q-Branch as his transport to Rome to investigate the mysterious SPECTRE, and later put the vehicle through its paces when he found himself discovered and pursued by one of the organisation's enforcers through the city streets. The Aston Martin DB10 was commissioned and built especially for use in 'Spectre', with the car publicly revealed during a press conference on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios on 4 December 2014. Featuring a body made from carbon fibre and a V8 engine, ten DB10s were constructed for use in the film three hero cars and seven built for specific action purposes during the car chase through the centre of Rome. While only created for the film and never available for sale, aspects of the DB10 went on to inform the design language of subsequent cars produced by Aston Martin, most notably the 2018 V8 Vantage.
