B-17 bombers also participated in the War in the Pacific, where they raided against Japanese shipping and airfields, early in the War. Morgan's sweetheart, a resident of Memphis, TN. It was the first B-17 heavy bomber to complete 25 missions over Europe, after which both aircraft and crew were returned safely to the United States.
