Video reviews
Pros
- Highly versatile: suitable for daily training, tempo runs, and racing
- Responsive and energetic ride due to PEBA foam and nylon plate
- Lightweight and comfortable for long-distance runs
- Updated wider base provides increased stability compared to previous versions
Cons
- Reported durability issues with the outsole rubber and upper mesh in some pairs
- Heel counter design can cause irritation or blisters for some runners
- Wider base and softer foam make it feel less aggressive/snappy than previous versions for some users
- Fit can be polarizing, with reports of heel slippage or narrow toe box issues despite the wider base
Better options
Why switch: Often preferred by runners who found the Speed 3's fit too wide or its ride less snappy; it is considered more of a dedicated speed shoe.
Suggested as an alternative if the Speed 3's heel counter causes irritation.
