Video reviews
Pros
- Excellent cushioning-to-price ratio
- Lightweight and bouncy FF Blast Max foam ride
- Versatile for daily, easy, and occasional tempo runs
- Great fit with a comfortable, gusseted tongue that stays in place
Cons
- Weak traction on wet, smooth surfaces like tiles or metal grates
- Exposed foam on the outsole can show wear relatively early compared to full-rubber outsoles
- Not the most breathable option for extremely hot conditions
⚠ Red flags
- Performance on wet surfaces is notably poor, increasing slip risk on smooth wet concrete or tiles
Better options
Why switch: A more premium, higher-performing option if budget allows and you prioritize maximum bounce and versatility for long runs.
Offers excellent traction with PumaGrip rubber, which performs better on wet surfaces than the Novablast 5.
A popular alternative for runners who want a more aggressive, versatile ride that handles tempo work very well.
