Where HasTrust is different
- Evidence, not just a number. Every verdict lists the sources behind it — the review sites, complaint threads and reports — so you can read them yourself. How we score.
- Price and product, not only safety. For a product page, the verdict also says whether the price is fair and shows safer alternatives when the shop is risky.
- The whole message. Paste the email, SMS or DM as it arrived: the scam checker checks the link, the sender address, any IBAN and any phone number in it.
- Open data. The monthly Fake Shop Report publishes the corpus numbers under CC BY 4.0.
Where the others are the right tool
- You suspect malware or a phishing kit on the page itself. Use URLVoid or VirusTotal: blocklist and antivirus engines are built for that, HasTrust is not.

Is HasTrust a ScamAdviser alternative?
For the question "can I trust this shop with my money?", yes: both give a trust score, HasTrust adds the evidence, a price check and message scanning, and needs no account. For a malware or blacklist scan, use URLVoid or VirusTotal — HasTrust is not a virus scanner.
Why do the tools give different scores for the same site?
They measure different things. A blacklist aggregator scores absence from malware lists; an algorithmic trust score weighs domain age, hosting and reviews; HasTrust reads what public sources say about the shop and shows them. A young but honest shop can score low on age-heavy tools and fine here, and the reverse.
Which one should I use before paying?
Run the shop through HasTrust and read the sources it cites. If the link came from a message you did not expect, paste the whole message into the scam checker. If you suspect an actual malware download, add a URL scanner.
