Unsicher

Auctionet looks like a genuine, established online auction marketplace where about 87 European auction houses sell furniture, art, design and collectibles. It has more than 3.9 million items sold and publishes clear contact details, payment options and return terms. Reviews are sharply split, though. Many buyers praise the support, item quality and packaging. A similar share complain about high or unexpected shipping fees, customs charges and long delivery times. Check the delivery cost on the item page and factor it in before you bid.

✓ Pro

Items are inspected, described and photographed by the auction houses' experts, and Auctionet offers a guarantee covering essential description errors.
Fixed transport costs are shown before you bid, by entering your postal code under 'Delivery'.
Payment options include Visa/MasterCard (card data handled by PCI DSS-certified partners Nets/PaymentIQ), Klarna, Brite instant bank payment and bank transfer.
A 14-day right of withdrawal is documented, with a refund after the item is returned.
Many reviewers praise responsive, human customer support, and the company replies to about 97–98% of negative Trustpilot reviews.
It follows Swedish anti-money-laundering rules, including ID checks via KnownID.

⚠ Kontra

Frequent complaints about high shipping fees, customs charges and extra costs. One UK buyer reported paying £68 for delivery.
Delivery is slow: items take 1–3 weeks after collection, and international delivery from Swedish auction houses can take 5–40 business days.
Return shipping for withdrawals is at the buyer's own cost and risk, must be arranged by the buyer, and must reach the auction house within 14 days or no refund is given.
Uncollected deliveries incur re-delivery charges and a storage fee of about $6 per day after 5 free working days. Unclaimed items may be resold.
Reviews are polarized: roughly 42% are 5-star and about 41–42% are 1-star.
Card payment is limited to Visa and MasterCard; AMEX and Diners are not accepted.
Some Trustpilot reviewers allege shill bidding. These are unverified individual claims.
Recurring reports of unexpected or hidden delivery charges and missing items or unreliable couriers.
Trustpilot notes the company hasn't invited customers recently, so the reviews may not be representative.
Invoices must be paid within 3 days, and withdrawing several purchases can get an account blocked from bidding.
