Derived from the Sukhoi Su-27 but extensively redesigned with Chinese-built avionics, radar, and weapons systems, the J-11B reflects the modernization of China's air combat capabilities. By 2019, aircraft like 61021 were equipped with improved sensors, digital cockpits, and compatibility with advanced air-to-air missiles, enhancing both beyond-visual-range and close-combat effectiveness. Assigned to the Northern Theater Command, the J-11B operates in a strategically important region that includes airspace near the Korean Peninsula and the Sea of Japan. Missions flown by units equipped with aircraft such as 61021 include air superiority patrols, interception of foreign military aircraft, and participation in large-scale joint exercises. These operations emphasize rapid response, integrated air defense, and coordination with other branches of the Chinese military. The "Yinglong," often translated as "Brave Dragon," symbolizes strength and vigilance in protecting national airspace. While the J-11B has not been involved in large-scale declared conflicts, it plays an active role in ongoing regional security dynamics often described as low-intensity or strategic competition environments. Aircraft from the Northern Theater Command regularly conduct intercepts and patrols in response to foreign reconnaissance missions, forming part of a continuous operational posture rather than traditional wartime engagement. In this context, the J-11B contributes to deterrence and power projection, ensuring readiness in a region marked by geopolitical sensitivity. This 1:100 scale model is a striking representation of modern Chinese air power. Featuring detailed markings and the sleek, aggressive profile of the Flanker-derived design, it captures the technological evolution and operational presence of this advanced fighter. Perfect for collectors of contemporary military aviation, this replica highlights the rise of next-generation
