The M42 Duster was designed to provide mobile anti-aircraft protection for ground troops, and it was equipped with twin 40mm Bofors guns mounted on a modified M41 Walker Bulldog tank chassis. The "Iron Coffin" is the nickname given to the M42 Duster by the soldiers who operated it. The M42 Duster was first deployed to Vietnam in 1965, and it was used extensively throughout the conflict. The Duster's twin 40mm guns were highly effective against low-flying aircraft and helicopters, and it was also used in a ground support role against enemy fortifications and troops. The Duster's mobility and firepower made it an essential part of the US Army's anti-aircraft defenses during the war. The M42 Duster was also used in the Korean War, the Dominican Republic and other conflicts. It was retired from service in the late 1970s, but it remains a popular subject among military vehicle enthusiasts and collectors. This 1:72 scale replica is highly detailed, with features such as rotating twin 40mm guns, realistic panel lines, and historically accurate markings. The replica also features the nickname "Iron Coffin" and the Vietnam War era markings. This diecast metal and plastic replica is sure to be a great addition to any collection of military vehicles. .video-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; /* 16:9 aspect ratio */ height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; height: auto; } .video-container iframe { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0; }
